Sneak Peak: First Ever Northeast Regional Vegan on the Map Tour (USA)

I have some exciting news! As you may know, I recently began working with Vegan on the Map, a vegan travel agency that plans trips all around the world. They only had one tour operating in the states (a trip running from Portland, OR to San Francisco) until I became a partner and got my friend Shannon on board.

Shannon and I love to dream big. So we did, right away. We brainstormed tons of ideas of tours we could organize up here in the northeastern corner of the US and with lots of hard work, our first tour is very close to being published on the website. I figured I would give you a sneak peak of what our first tour will be like.

At the end of May and beginning of June 2019, we will be taking 8-10 lovely people on a New England-style weekend getaway, starting in Cambridge, Massachusetts. We will kick off the tour with a vegan breakfast and meet & greet at the one and only… Veggie Galaxy. Then we will drive up to Salem, MA where we will dive into some history and some more delicious vegan food before heading north through the beautiful state of New Hampshire. Making a few stops along the way for photos and refreshments, we will make our way into Vermont where we will land at our first accommodation. Here we will settle in and I will show you how to chef up some vegan versions of classic American comfort food. Our personal yoga teacher Danielle will offer guidance in a relaxing yoga and meditation practice before we retreat to a cozy campfire for vegan smores and chit chat.

The next morning will blossom with a meditation in a space held by Danielle and a breakfast buffet (I’ll keep this a secret for now ;)) put together by Shannon and I. Burlington, VT is our next destination! This day will be spent soaking in some history during a walking tour of Burlington with a local historian, followed by a few hours to get lunch and explore on your own. Later in the day we will regroup and head back to our home for yoga with Danielle and some time to rest. That night we will have dinner at a veg restaurant followed by a bar crawl [so bring your dancing shoes!]. If that’s not your style, you are more than welcome to head back to the house for some tea, meditation, and whatever else floats your boat.

The third and final day will begin with a meditation and another breakfast buffet [one will be savory, one sweet]. Immediately following breakfast, we will head into town for a boat tour on the awe-some Lake Champlain. After the boat tour we will be heading back to Boston, stopping in New Hampshire for a final yoga practice and a vegan picnic lunch on a scenic farm or other natural site. Once we arrive in Boston, you may part ways or join us [the tour guides] for an optional dinner out to close out the weekend.

If that isn’t an ideal New England-style long weekend, I don’t know what is! We will be balancing nature and city/town life, energizing and relaxing activities, home cooked meals and meals prepared by professional chefs, group time and alone time… but a few things certainly remain constant: everything will be catered to vegans and the vegan lifestyle and stress and negativity will not be welcome 😉

If you’re interested in longer getaways, maybe something in Bali, Spain, France, Thailand, Australia or Nepal… perhaps you want more thrilling activities like sports included or a bigger city presence… there are definitely all kinds of trips to suit different tastes and budgets.

You don’t even have to be vegan or even vegetarian to travel with Vegan on the Map. In fact, even if you’re just intrigued about plant-based food, this sort of trip is ideal because our guides take the stress out of traveling and finding the best food spots by planning and organizing everything for you!

We’re so excited and proud to foster this company’s expansion in the states and for us to be major gears that keep the wheels turning. We have been exploring the veg community in New England quite a bit and are beginning to create a team of passionate plant-based tour organizers here in the northeast. If you or anyone you know are passionate about travel and veganism, are living in the northeast region, and would be interested in collaborating ~ email us at veganonthemapNE@gmail.com and make a note that you found us through Feminine Boutique. We’d be so happy to speak and connect with you.

The plantbased world is exponentially growing and evolving every year and there is so much opportunity within it. I’m interested to see how this will mesh with my future health coaching business and perhaps my other business ideas as well.

It’s likely that a year from now we will be hosting spooky and scenic autumn tours, as New England is known for its incredible foliage and witchy, paranormal history. 🙂

For now, I hope everyone has a happy end of October… talk to you soon!

Kayla,
