Hello ladies,
I don’t know how you feel, but I get the chill as the weather is getting colder by the day. Winter is coming and it’s the perfect time for some Netflix and chill. I mean, who wouldn’t want to snuggle under a blanket with your loved one, a friend or just a hot beverage of your choice in this weather? Fall and winter always make me want some cozy time and a good show to watch. This is why I think this show is perfect for you to sit back and relax.
The show is named “Easy” and it has 8 half-hour episodes (4 hours total if you’re into that binge life). Easy takes place in Chicago and it shows stories of Millennials. It sounds very simple and uninteresting because we all know how Millennials are portrayed in TV and movies nowadays. However, this is not the case. The simple storyline is strengthened as it captured the genuine world and the acting is so good that I felt like I knew those characters. It was not like something I watched on my TV screen and it will never happen to me. These stories are real stories and real problems that I have experienced in real life. You might catch your moment in this show just like how I caught mine in some episodes.
Millennials nowadays are generally between mid 30’s and early 20’s. This show easily found a way to present a unique subject for each episode but it all sticks to that one unified theme. As a typical Millennial myself, I can say that this show has some exaggerations here and there, or maybe because I haven’t personally encountered a similar situation. It’s debatable and I still have time to explore so let’s get back to Easy. And to my interpretation, the name of the show is like how we Millennials view the world. It seems easy but it’s also not easy. The name is ironic, sarcastic, but holds some truth in it as well. At our age, struggling to find our identities, purpose in lives, or even just how to live is so easy and yet hard sometimes. There are many factors can affect our lives and the only thing matter is how we deal with it. Easy presents 8 different stories addressed to couples, friends, and family. Maybe you’ll find yours in one of these episodes if you decide to check out this show. I don’t mean to sound serious because Easy is a really funny and witty show. The narrative is not cheesy or over the top and it really made me think about certain things when I watched it.
The interesting twist of Easy is how each episode connects together even though 8 episodes are not necessarily related. If you remember, there was this movie called “New York, I love you” that has the same direction as Easy. In New York, I love you, all the stories are different but the characters are related to each other one way or another. Although the movie did not receive many positive reviews, it still fascinated me. Easy is similar in that narrative but longer and less cheesy. Isn’t it just wonderful how all these stories can happen in the same city where people just sort of related to each other? If you’re looking for a good time and the subject of this show piqued your interest, you should definitely give it a try.
Until next time, have a wonderful Netflix and chill!
