Today’s topic: Drugstore Lipsticks.
More specifically the Maybelline Color Sensational lipsticks. These awesome lipsticks normally retail for $5-$9 and they are phenomenal.
While this lipstick might look like any old bullet lipstick, it is so much more than that. The majority of the lipsticks I’ve tried from the range have been creamy and opaque. Not only that, but these bad boys last for a very long time, but are still creamy enough to be comfortable. In addition, the Color Sensational range has a huge array of different colors and Maybelline is constantly adding more.
I have what one might call a makeup addiction, so I have a lot of lipsticks (more than one person could ever need) and I can honestly say these are the lipsticks I grab the majority of the time. They’re easy to apply, look great, and last a long time.
Some quick tips for applying lipstick:
- If you have trouble staying inside your lip line get a matching lip liner and outline your lips first. (Colourpop has great lip liners!)
- Don’t want to buy a lip liner? Just use the pointed side of the lipstick upside down to outline your lips.
- For extra long wear time apply a layer, blot with a tissue, and apply a second layer.
- Keep in mind that you can rock any color you desire, so work it!
